REVIEW OF ‘HAPPINESS THE INSIDE JOB’
I love blogging ( and now vlogging!) and it has given me so many amazing memories already but every now and again it throws me something incredibly useful. Enter author Matt Pepper with his book, ‘Happiness The Inside Job’.
I was asked to review this book and it couldn’t have arrived in my post box when I needed it more. I’m not going to lie, I love a good self-help book. Anything that makes tackling problems easier, I’m all for it. As many of you may know, I have suffered from anxiety and depression for years. It’s something I’m open about and blog about as and when. It’s also something I’ve done a lot of reading about and continue to research in the hopes of finding ways that can help even more. This book, I thoroughly recommend to those who are struggling to find happiness within their own life.
A simple, easy to read book that doesn’t feel clunky like you’re reading a textbook on the subject. No jargon or activities that may seem difficult to do- just easy help that makes you read it and have an aha! moment.
I love the font and the drawings especially, along with the bright yellow and orange cover, the book itself is joyful to look at and to read. Something i think is key when you’re learning how to improve your own happiness. It’s a book that makes you want to read it because of it’s relaxed and informal approach to the subject and I know it will be one that I will dip into myself time and time again for advice.
Knowing that Matt Pepper has twenty years of experience sets my mind at ease and i’m ready to accept his help. The book is filled with techniques and ideas to apply to your own life and I can definitely already feel positive effects occurring in my life from trying them out. An interactive book with pages to fill in along the way, it really has helped me feel more positive and ready to tackle this next semester! ‘
